We're excited to announce that the Founder of SMB and FuteeTV, Deb Dietz, has been nominated as NAWBO Orlando's Board President-Elect for the organization. Deb is a former Board Member of NAWBO Chicago, and a former "Member-of-the-Year Business Owner", and now that she's relocated to Central Florida, we are excited to have her join the leadership of the Orlando chapter.
The business climate for women entrepreneurs in Central Florida (including the Orlando area) is vibrant, supportive, and increasingly powerful. Florida ranks among the top states nationwide for female founders, often leading or placing very high in metrics like women-owned businesses per capita (around 5.77 per 100 residents statewide, with strong showings in Orlando and nearby areas). Women-owned businesses here benefit from a business-friendly environment—no state income tax, population growth driving demand, and Central Florida's emergence as a fast-growing tech, innovation, and startup hub (ranked highly for starting businesses and tech growth).
The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) propels women entrepreneurs into economic, social, and political spheres of power worldwide. Its mission focuses on strengthening members' wealth-creating capacity, promoting economic development, creating positive changes in business culture, building strategic alliances, and transforming public policy.
